Hey, once again 1 post about this motherboard, also once again dealing about the same issue, keyboards not being recognized.
Yes i know just use a regular keyboard the old ps2, but no it just doesnt work, the strange thing is, i stripped off the motherboard and toke it to the store i bought it from, they assembled it and it worked fine, so now i know theres something wrong at my end, my power suply, or any kind of conflict with my video card how would i know (cant do a bios update if i cant even pass post can i lol.)

anyways got a couple of questions, is there a way to skip post error messages,, i mean a jumper somewhere to continue with the boot process, then i'll be able to do a bios update..
secondly what could it be, i'm using a MIOS power suply model 400u, and a radeon x1950 pro 512, i know the rest of the components cant be the cause of the trouble cause it worked fine at the store with it all, it was basically different power supply and video card. later on today i'll be changing the 2 to c if i can get any results, but for now just checking out here if any1 had the same problem.

and btw how shitty is MSIs support hum? 3 days i posted my problem there and i never got any reply or anything. amazing they just lost a client

thank you for your "quite helpful" answer
i read something about ps/2 wake up jumpers.. any1 got any idea where those are located? cause fair enought the manual for this motherboard eosnt even citate the jumper settings for performance and other stuff, lol. they totaly skip tru that. amazing.

Never heard of a ps/2 wake up jumper for the MSI 975X Platinum.

Fortunately for me I do not have the problems you are experiencing. Have you tried plugging your USB keyboard/mouse into all the USB ports on the back of the mobo?

My mobo has the original BIOS, I believe it is version 7.0 and I have connected my keyboard and mouse to all four USB ports on the back of the MSI 975X and I have no problems getting into the BIOS.

Technicially speaking, it is possible that the power supply is not providing enough power to the USB ports. However, the ports requires very little amps to function. I would say you need to make sure the ATX motherboard power connector needs to be securely in place. Then try again.

Iwas looking for info on MIOS power supplies and saw your post here. The MIOS power supplies are real crap. MDG put them in all their computers and they are not worth their weight in scrap metal. I have had nothing but problems with them mainly because they have absolutley no transient filtering at all in them. This can cause all sorts of problems. Their output specs are way over rated too. Even the MDG "GOLD LINE" power supplies are from MIOS and only good for the junk pile. Better to get something more substantial like ENERMAX. ANything except MIOS.

Do you have anything plugged into the USB headers on the board? Card reader/front usb ports etc? If so make sure to cut/pull out the 10 pin cable from the plug plugged into the motherboard. That is the OC pin or "over current" pin that a lot more motherboards now don't want anything connected to (unless specifically designed for it) or it says there's a surge and disables all usb ports.
