Hello guys,

I recently put together a mid-range gaming rig and ran into an unforeseen issue with the CPU Cooler. My MSI 990FXA GD65V2 motherboard doesn't seem to support a Cooler Master Hyper 212X, I tried different ways of screwing it in but for no avail.

I referred to pcpartpicker.com, and it lists EVO 212 as compatible. Can anyone shed some light on whether that is accurate, or suggest a good compatible CPU Cooler?

I'm in India and have already lost 2600 INR on the 212X.

Thanks. And here's the full config for reference:
Processor: AMD FX 8350 Black edition
Board: MSI 990FXA GD65 V2
GPU: Sapphire AMD/ATI Radeon R9 270X with boost 4 GB DDR5*
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 1x8 GB 1600Mhz
HDD: WD Caviar Green 2 TB
PSU: Seasonic S12G 750W
Cabinet: Cooler Master HAF 912 Combat Mid Tower
Monitor: Samsung 22" LED

Hi Sravan, just put the screws in to the middle hole of the clamp on all sides, place the heat sink on the cpu, and you'd have to press it down really hard for it to fit. Try it out first without the paste just to give you an idea of how it fits. Then just apply the paste and push away.
