I have purchased a MSI a55m-p33 motherboard and I am having some issues and need to know if I should send it in for a replacement. Issue#1: When starting, the msi splash screen appears and codes such as a2, a3, b4, 99, and a8 appear. Sometimes all of the display, and other times like today, only a2 appears and windows boots. It also repeats itself sometimes, for example: A2,A3,B4,99,A8,A2,A3,B4,99. Is this a defect with the bios? I have reset the CMOS battery and reseated the ram, HDD, CDD, and cpu. Issue#2: when waking from sleep, it takes a few seconds for the mouse and keyboard to function . Both of them have power and lights are on. I understand this may be related to the CPU as have a Quad Core A6 and have been seeing TONS of artifacts lately. I will replace that, along with adding a R7 250. Could anyone give me some pointers on were to start?

Solution
Some of those codes are only part of the testing sequence so it's usual to see them, if there's no interruption while booting there shouldn't be anything to worry about, however you can always see what each code means either in the mobo's manual or at the mobo's website.

As for the wake from sleep mode... haven't used the sleep mode for a while in my pc but if I remember correctly it would take 1-2 seconds for my mouse and kb to react, though maybe that delay varies from mobo to mobo so hopefully someone who owns the same mobo can answer you that.

Artifacts...... that's not good at all, could be an overheating issue or a defective APU, monitor your temps at idle and during load to find out what's going on.

I could not find what the codes mean, I am just glad to know the codes aren't like the beep codes indicating a failure. As far as the artifacts, my old piece of junk pegatron board shot to much voltage into due to a failure of some sort. I plan to replace it with a a8 3870k and get a dedicated gpu.
