[SOLVED] MSI A68HM-E33 FM2+ DDR3 won't work with HyperX 8GB 1833Mhz RAM

My MSI A68HM-E33 FM2+ DDR3 Motherboard doesn't boot when I try using a HyperX 8GB 1833Mhz RAM stick even after I've changed the frequency settings in the BIOS menu. Is there something I'm missing?

Solution
This module is compatible with the A68HM-E33 motherboard, so it should work.

After clearing CMOS (again) try the other HyperX module (by itself) instead.

If this other HyperX module works, then shut down the computer and swap this module with the first HyperX module. If the computer fails to boot/run with the first HyperX module then it is possibly (partly) faulty.

If the other Hyperx module also fails to boot/run the computer, then both HyperX modules may be (partly) faulty.

If the HyperX module(s) appear to be faulty, can these module(s) be tested (one at a time) in another computer (again) to verify that they may be faulty?

I just updated to the latest BIOS and tried to run the stick on default CMOS values. Is it okay to boot with both the memory module and the HyperX RAM in place? I've been advised in the past not do to that but it's something I have not tried.

You are trying to run (boot) the HyperX module together with another (type of) memory module at the same?

If so, then the issue of module incompatibility is likely to occur, and further steps may have to be done to try to get them to work together.

If not, then boot with the HyperX module. We'll look at other steps later if necessary.

I installed it with the 4G memory module that I had.

The below image is what my system shows after I attached both sticks.

My CPU is AMD A8 7650k. It was used with one of the RAM sticks on a different machine so there shouldn't be any compatibility issues.

It seems the system is detecting the stick but for some reason is not using the memory. I also have another HyperX stick that came as a set that I would like to use, my motherboard only has 2 slots. Is there a reason I can't run it without the memory module I'm currently using?
