I want to benchmark a few games on an older system and use Afterburner to record the gameplay. I do not have a capture card so I need to do it internally. My question is, how much of a frame rate hit am I going to take from benching and recording at the same time? For reference, the computer has a core 2 duo and 4gb of ram. I will be upgrading it to a core 2 quad and then doing the same.

afterburner osd is relatively light, low fps drop as long you dont touch polling rate
game recording will use cpu for sure, if you use gpu hardware encoding, performance drop should be small, if you use cpu encoding, performance drop can be high (depends on codec settings)
