Afterburner won't allow me to change the hotkey for video recording. It is stuck on "C."

If I try to assign a new key, the new key flashes quickly in the selection box and then it changes right back to C.

Another note: pressing C in programs like games still won't start or stop recording. I'm not really sure what the problem is, since I have been using the program to record video for a couple days now. It just stopped working. I had it assigned to the "\" key and everything was fine.

I have tried going to MSIAfterburner.cfg in the Profiles folder, but the entry for the hotkey reads as "000800AEh" which I assume is some sort of programming code for the C key.

Is there a way to make it stop defaulting to C? Alternately, is there a list somewhere of the codes for different keys so that I can manually enter a different key into the config file?

Solution
I've been doing more research and found it was related to another issue I was having. Said issue was flickering of the preview panel for alt+tab as well as tooltips and the taskbar.

Anyway, if you're having these flickering issues it comes down to a faulty USB device. Apparently the signals these malfunctioning devices send disrupt the operating system. Try unplugging your USB devices one at a time to find out which is the culprit.

In my case, it was a pair of Logitech headphones causing all the problems.

Hope this helps other people!
