I'm currently exploring new boundaries with the GTX 1050 TI. It's sitting stable on core clock, and +1000 Memory. Having gone up by small amounts and testing stability. But MSI afterburner does only allow to get 1000 extra memory, while Aorus graphics engine allows for further overclock?

Please someone enlighten me! Thanks

Edit: I have to add that the GPU's temp doesnt go beyond 62 degrees, at 40% fan speed. So that is atleast fairly decent as far as I know.

Solution
I apologize for not getting back sooner as I have been repairing a recently acquired vehicle. This could be caused by Vdroop. This is where the voltage actually lowers as the chip gets put under heavier loads. With the higher frequency the GPU is requiring more power and the voltage regulation isn't able to stop the Vdroop from happening.

On the flip side of this there is also some deviation in voltage in which the program could be detecting. These are the main reasons your voltage could be showing a change.
If it is grayed out than your card does not support this option and you are stuck with what MSI Afterburner has for settings. There is nothing you can do to Overclock higher. As far as I know the Aorus cards are Gigiabyte cards and Gigabyte has not released any overclocking software for there cards to allow higher clocks, similar to what MSI afterburner does with there cards.

You could try different overclocking programs to see if they allow a higher limit but it would be doubtful. EVGA Precision X is Nvidia so they may have more options since EVGA only makes Nvidia GPU's, HIS iTurbo, Asus Tweak, Sapphire TriXX are all based off of the Riva Tuner overclocking program so you can give these a shot to see if one has a higher limit.

Nvidia unfortunately lock you out of unofficial overclocking, if they didn't the option would be visible in Afterburner, this is why I mentioned the EVGA program since they only deal with Nvidia cards. You may find a solution with them even though it is also based off of Riva Tuner.

Cool thanks mate, i've downloaded asus tweak and it allows me to go much further aswell.. But at +1.3k memory clock it shows real artificating. At +1k memory, it shows one SLIGHT Artifact or Graphics glitch in Heaven Bench.. At the scene with the dragon statue.. i've lowered it to +800mem and it also shows the same graphics glitch. While I ran about every other single stress test at +1.2k mem with success, including multiple superposition benchmarks lol

How to approach this, tweaking power limit doesnt help anything either, mmm

Stock Firestrike score was 5850 // +850mem score was 6355 // +1100mem score is 6544
Stock Heaven score was 865 // +850mem score was 932 // +1100mem score was 965

It definetly does increase fps quite noticably! And it has never crashed. but this slight graphics glitch

Download OCCT and run the GPU test with error checking enabled. Set your shaders to 3 for Nvidia, if you had AMD then it would be 7, and test for 30 mins to see if it errors. If it errors your overclock is unstable. OCCT is the best way to tell if your overclock is stable because it will pick up errors that your eye can not see.

P.S. do not use the PC while testing as it will give false positive errors.

Sweet mate, thanks for the info! I'm actually reading more people have this graphics glitch at the same right side of the dragon statue, after the sunshine. Currently redownloading. I'm just hesitant if I missed that graphics glitch from the start, or whether it just appeared after overclocking. Kinda doubtful that the one time artifacts show up {Blue lines} in heaven at 1.25k memory. Will cause any damage to the card, with the technology of today

Much appreciated!

I am just sitting with one final question. Blue rubberbanding'ish lines in Heaven is also artifacting? I am aware that dots definetly are. But not sure if this is a more/less or a normal case of artifacting. Still in the learning procedure of overclocking 😛

Alright sweet, right on! I'll run an occt, and see what the deal is.. Appreciate the information too. I like to learn, its just hard to find information on these small OC related details. Been googling for 2 days straight haha

Do not check the memory usage box since it only can do just under 2000 MB. This is a limitation for the program but it will still catch memory errors. Leave the FPS limiter alone since you want the GPU to run full bore and not be artificially slowed down.

Right right. I was getting 143fps @ 100% load. So its on full bore for sure. But! test is completed, it showed no errors before going away, now its finished and doesnt show any log or results of the stress test. Is this a normal thing?

I kinda want to uncheck all monitor options unrelated to the GPU. I'd love to keep an eye on the GPU voltage as I still want to tweak that. But I cant single out the voltage that has to do with the GPU lol

It will show the logs on your first run only unless you restart the program. Your next runs logs get put in the log folder automatically. Did you do a run for 30 mins and leave the PC alone?

You can limit what shows in the monitor window by entering the monitor tab and unchecking the ones you do not want.

Do not use the other parts of this program since they are unreliable.

Ah right, automatically put in the log. Cool, i'll let the dog walk in a bit so it'll run for 30 mins. Currently in the process of understanding this program a little more and why the sphere wasn't moving but I know it now!

I have unchecked few CPU related monitoring things. I just dont have enough knowledge to link the voltage that GPU-Z shows to different voltage names on OCCT

Edit: It must be VINO voltage, shown on OCCT monitoring!

'Kay sweet, first run was 20min. No errors, third run was 30minutes with no errors. Thats at 4.358~ Memory, from the 3508mhz stock

I can deem this as an stable overclock in your eyes? Thanks a lot for the suggestion. I got a little anxious when that one spot in heaven benchmark would show the graphics glitch. It must be within Unigine, rather then on my side.

Offtopic: Are you aware if the Gigabyte GTX 1050 TI Windforce model has voltage tweaking allowed? And do you know happn to know a fair & solid overclock goal for my card?

For kicks and giggles try running withthe memory set to 1900MB and see if it errors.

I would say it is stable if it didn't error. Keep in mind some cards have ECC memory so it the memory errors it will try to correct it on its own. To tell if it is is you would see a drop in performance in the benchmarks. This is where Heaven, Valley, 3D Mark and others come in in overclocking.

I have no Idea what those cards will do in terms of overclocking since I wouldn't do anything less than the GTX XX60 models. That is just my preference. I haven't read up on what they seem to top out at. This way of overclocking will give you your highest stable overclock but I have no idea of a good goal to shoot for with that card.

As for voltage I believe it does, but I could be wrong, since most Nvidia cards do support the voltage adjustment to some point. It could be limited to how much you can add.

Voltage does actually adjust I found out earlier. I have yet to find a STABLE program to run more then 1000+ memory though, asustweak fails me after one run of heaven benchmark haha, and the other mentioned OC progs are also limited to 1k. I just came to realisation that Aorux graphics engine shows the effective mhz boost, while MSI and alike show half the effective mhz boost, so it comes down to the same point..

I'll try that haha, lets give it a shot... But honestly it says 39 MB memory in OCCT, I THINK it refers to 3900mb of the 4GB card.

I am currently switching between all sorts of benchmark, just straying away from Furmark atm. I think I'm "satisfied" with the +1k Memory MHz for now, so I'm currently working on core, its on +50 CORE, But the increase in performance is not as much as i'd have hoped lol. I guess people underestimate Memory in terms of FPS and performance

Are you aware whether adding voltage can stabilize an artifacting memory overclock btw? IF I can manage to find a program that allows further Memory overclocking, and voltage will help stabilize. I'd love to do so. Small steps in search of near-perfection! 😛

Oh really. let me just run this core overclock for 25 mins, and after i'll do an 20-25 min run on 1.15k memory overclock with the mentioned MBs 😛 I wonder if it'll reveal potential errors.

And honestly dude. MSI Afterburner only shows voltage, i've got Nooo clue how to recognize whether is toward the core or memory. I thought it increasing voltage went both ways. OC'ing in so in-depth.. I love it, but its hard to learn or even find lol

Mate, do you happen to know the reason why my volt is throttling to 1.043, from 1.05? is there a specifiek reason for it? It seems to be happening more as the overclock gets higher slowly but steadily.
