This isn't really an issue but wondering why its happening. Awhile back I got a Gigabyte gtx 970 (not the G1) and used MSI AB to OC it by +100MHz. I restart as instructed. I later load up ACU and see that the Core clock is 1480MHz max. I was confused since it is at 1114 MHz by default. So adding 100MHz to 1114MHz would be 1214MHz, not 1480MHz. So I'm wondering if something is wrong with MSI AB or my GPU of if this is a normal thing.

Specs:
CPU: AMD FX-8120 8-core (OC to 3.5GHz.)
GPU: Gigabyte GTX 970 (Not the G1)
MB: Asrock 970 Extreme3
RAM: 16GB Ripjaws.
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium

Solution
it's part of nvidia gpu boost; the gpu gets automatically overclocked to the thermal limits of the gpu (i think the target temp is 75C) if the gpu power is needed by the nvidia graphic driver.

in short it dynamically overclocks itself automatically.
