I set a fan curve for my GPU (Nvidia RTX 4070 Ti) ith MSI afterburner.

I set the minimum fan % at 40% up to 40°C, however below this temperature HW monitor reports the fan going from 0 rpm to 800rpm and back every second. You can also hear the fans go on/off in the case. Any idea why or how to fix this so it stays at 800rpm in low load?

MSi afterburner is generic software.
It is not guarantied to work with every possible graphics card model out there.

If it is not working with your particular graphics card, you can only report it to MSI afterburner software developer.

Other than that - use software developed by manufacturer of your graphics card, if they have any such software.

Interesting I don't change the *c as far as temp limits +- I leave where MSI defaults it to and just set fan to 40-45 speed non gaming and bump it up when gaming.

I have ran MSI that way for almost 20years now for me no issues.
