I'm thinking about making the jump to SLI to increase my performance with split screen gaming. I do this mostly with Borderlands 2 on a 1080p 50" TV with 1-3 other people.
I currently have an EVGA GeForce 660 ti here's the link for specifics

From what I've been reading an MSI 660 ti should work with my current card. I found this for a very good price but I want to make sure its compatible before I purchase it. Here's the MSI gpu

I have an i5-3570k, a 650w power supply, a msi z77a-g45 motherboard which is SLI compatible. So first off, are the two cards compatible for SLI? Second, will I need a better power supply to run the two GPUs, and if so what should I look for? Also, would there be any performance difference between adding the MSI card or adding an EVGA one?

Looks like a good plan. I have an EVGA and PNY SLI setup, no problems. You matched the vRAM, which is good. They will clock down to the speed of the slower card, but you can always overclock them as well. No real performance difference in adding another brand, except a slight clock thing, as noted, but nothing that you'll notice.

Your 650W, as long as it's quality, should be fine. One 660 Ti has a 450W recommendation, I believe. They pull max 150W each, so 650 is plenty. Hopefully it's a good unit (Corsair, XFX, Seasonic, Antec, OCZ and some others).

That's an excellent deal for a brand new 660 Ti.
