Hi.
I built my first PC about a month and a half ago and have used it with no issues until now. Last night I had to rush out and I turned the PC off at the mains without shutting it down. When I came home later and powered it back on there was an error message about something having gone wrong during the previous shutdown, and the PC took about 5 minutes to load up through a couple of loading screens. After that it worked fine again and I stayed on for about 2 hours before shutting it down as normal. Today when I've come to turn it on the screen remains black. It's as though the monitor is connecting to the PC but nothing is happening. There's no way for me to enter the BIOS or anything like that. On my motherboard, the VGA debug light is showing. My monitor works fine when connected with the same wire to my laptop. I am really at a loose end as to what to do? Could do with some advice and help.
The build
MSI B250M PRO-VD
i3-7100 CPU
8GB Crucial DDR4-2400 (2x4GB)
Kingston A400 240GB SSD
Seagate BarraCuda 1TB 7200 HDD
Corsair CX500 PSU
I don't have a GPU. I do have my mouse and keyboard connected at the back via USB and a set of speakers. I connect to the internet via ethernet cable.
Will
