Hello,
I have recently put together my first build, everything seems to be fine except for the fact that there is no signal to my monitor, which is a tv as my old monitor has cracked and I currently don't have one.
Specs:
Ryzen 5 1600x
Gigabyte GTX 1060 3GB
MSI B350 Tomahawk
Team 2x4GB 3000mhz RAM

I have tried to do everything that I have found online but still no luck. I tried to reset the cmos using the shorting method as well as taking out the battery, reseating the cpu, playing around with different RAM slots and holding the power button for 15 secs and then doing the cmos reset. None of them have worked for me.
The weird fact is that straight after powering it on the CPU LED comes on for about 3s and then turns off, no other LEDS turn on. I have tested whether they work by taking out the RAM completely and then powering it up, then CPU and RAM LEDS are on.

Solution
double check that your monitor is connected to a connector on the GPU and not one on the motherboard (very common, you'd be surprised)

Getting a correct output to a TV across HDMI is not always easy if the TV isn't intended to be used as a monitor. Try to borrow a proper monitor if you can.

do fans stay running?

when installing in case, do not leave out any standoffs that are needed and take out any that are not needed.

double check, triple check, all connectors. unplug and replug them.

you might take everything out of the case...sometimes something gets shorted to the board and this helps you trouble shoot. lay it out on a bench with motherboard sitting on it's box and connect everything there.
