MSI B350 Tomahawk Ram?

I just upgraded to ryzen today, however i got some patriot viper elite 2x4gb ram. the ram shows up in windows. In task manager it shows 8 but only 4 is used. On the motherboard website it shows its compatible. Any ideas? https://imgur.com/a/JLEcY https://imgur.com/tWVFxfK
update: also hear 3 long beeps when turning my pc on

sometimes you need to push a lil bit harder for it to click . or you might be using the wrong dual channel , it varies from motherboard to motherboard

I'm sure that the ram is in the right slots and pushed down all the way. Should i try a bios update?
