Hello,

I want to use F4-3000C15D-8GVRB or F4-3000C15D-8GVR as RAM for my new PC. Using a MSI B350M BAZOOKA and Ryzen 3 2200G and GTX 1050 Gaming X 2G.

G.Skill RipJaws V rot DIMM Kit 8GB, DDR4-3000, CL15-16-16-35

Ryzen 3 2200G requires 2933 MhZ supported memory speed, but this one got 3000 MhZ. Does it "downgrade" it? And if so, does the mainboard and cpu can handle that, running stable?

... and if I use a A6-9500 CPU to upgrade the board to newest BIOS for Ryzen 3 2200G ... does the A6-9500 can work with this RAM too? Because its got much lower memory speeds I think.

... and last question: Can I overlock / underclock this memory in the mainboard? (even if I'm likely to not do it)

PS: I'm sorry for the noobish questions. :/

The QVL page does half the work for you. The QVL means you can get RAM to work at that speed more likely with XMP overclocking. It doesn't mean that the RAM won't work at all if it's not on the QVL. So when you pop the A6 into the motherboard it will run at 2133MHz when you first start it before you start messing with XMP, and you won't be doing that anyways until the 2200G is installed after the BIOS update. So the QVL for the A6 doesn't matter.

So if you want 2x4GB DDR4 at 3000MHz, and under 100 € your options are none sadly that I can see. There really isn't many kits made in 3000MHz in 2x4GB and ones that I could find are around 140€ . They are all generally either 2x8GB or 4x4GB above 3000MHz. Those cost way...

- 3000MHz RAM generally is set by the motherboard to run at 2997MHz actually. This is fine. Same thing. Ryzen runs a lot better with faster RAM. Also I've never heard of Ryzen 2200g requiring 3000MHz RAM to operate. As it uses DDR4, it should work at 2133MHZ which is the DDR4 default. Worst case scenario it would under-perform.

- A-series CPU should work with any RAM speed in the event you need to use one to get your BIOS update done. Assuming it is an AM4 A-series CPU of course. An FM2 one is NOT going to work! A6-9500 is AM4.

- B350M motherboards allow overclocking for both CPU (using BIOS or Ryzen Master in Windows) or RAM (X.M.P).

Edit: I'd also add that when it comes to getting the XMP RAM speeds you want, checking the motherboard QVL becomes very important on Ryzen. If you got the F4-3000C15D-8GVRB from the QVL then you should be set. I'd check the QVL but MSI's website is overloaded right now.

These 2 RAMs I mentioned are NOT on the QVL list of Ryzen 3 2200G, but only for the A6-9500. I didn't find a 2x4GB DDR4-3000 RAM for < 110€ that's on the QVL list for Ryzen 3 2200G on the B350M-Bazooka.

CMK8GX4M2D2666C16 from Corsair would work although over budget.

F4-2666C15D-8GRR is a good fit. 2666 MHz, 2x4GB, on the QVL, and about 110 euro from Amazon France anyways:
