Hi,

I'm trying to get my PC to boot up when I turn on the mains socket (using a smart plug and it would be kind of handy).

I've had a poke around in the BIOS and the only relevant power management settings I can see appear to relate to what state the board should return to in the event it loses power while booted up.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Am I missing something blatantly obvious?

Many thanks.

In my B450 Mortar it's in section Advanced/Power Management. Setting is called 'Restore after AC power loss'; set to OFF or ON.

But I think it only functions if AC power is just switched off when the system is on and functioning. Such an inelegant shutdown can do bad things to Windows and any open apps, especially if done exclusively. It's probably intended for a system installed as a server so they restart in the case of power outages.

Solution
Thanks for the pointers.

Believe it or not that was the first thing I tried and it didn't seem to work so I assumed it was indeed only if the PC shuts down unexpectedly.

I gave it another go, given the advice, but let the PC start up after the BIOS change instead of just quitting out and shutting down (after saving the changes). It looks like this does work fine and is exactly what I wanted.

So thanks for the help.
