Alright starting off my problem is that an MSI B450 gaming plus motherboard refuses to boot and only shows the EZ troubleshoot CPU LED at all times.

Im using 2 sticks of 8GB DDR4 RAM and a Ryzen 3 2200g.

This board is supposed to be 2000 series ready but apparently not?

-Ive tried updating the BIOS using the USB BIOS flashback plus.
-Ive checked it with minimum confguration (only the psu, cpu and a stick of ram).
-ive checked for shorts and found nothing.
-ive tested both sticks of ram and nothing.
-ive tried some odd trick with turning onthe PSU switch and Case power switch at the same time and nothing.
-Ive tried reseating the CPU and nothing (its not cracked, has no bent pins or anything).
-The power supply is in working order as ive been using it on my previous build till today ( got the parts today and started upgrading), and cpu pins are connected as well.

As of now the only thing i havent tried is using an am4 athlon or testing the ryzen 3 on another am4 motherboard (which i will do later when i get to a friends house to borrow his).

Im stumped, these parts are brand new and i doubt/dread they came faulty.
If anyone has any possible suggestions no matter how fringe id really appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Solution
yea seems odd, I use a b450 mb with a ryzen 2600x, it works fine. when you put it into another mb did you use different ram? I know ryzen can be picky with ram, might create a boot issue..

edit: i see you said you tested the ram but if testing with different components might still be a compatibility issue..
If you mean return the motherboard for a replacement then no. I checked an athlon 950 on it just now and it works fine with it, also verified that the BIOS version is the latest, but the ryzen still wont boot (still get the cpu LED on).

Im going to try putting the ryzen into another am4 socket motherboard with a flash BIOS in hopes of seeing if its the cpu that needs replacement.
RMA the MB.

As an update, i tried putting my ryzen into an AM4 gigabyte motherboard (GA A32m-s2h) and the sucker booted up into windows as normal, so at this point ive tested both the mobo and cpu and BOTH are working, but when i put em together they wont boot up at all ( again, ive updated the bios on the MSI mobo and ive checked on the manufacturer page and my cpu is compatible).

You conjurer of deep magics you actually guessed the issue, i tested my ram sticks but i forgot to test the one that wasnt faulty alone, and found out it was faulty becuase i tested my friends ram stick on my rig and it booted up no problem, so ye the problem was a faulty ram stick (even though they are BOTH brand new and came in the same packaging).

Thanks for the help, may this thread help anyone else facing a similar problem.
