I just bought the Core i5-10400 because I needed an upgrade from my current AMD Ryzen 3 2200G but I cannot find if it will be compatible with my current motherboard which is a MSI B450 Gaming Pro Carbon AC? Do I need to upgrade my motherboard too?

No. AMD motherboards are not compatible with Intel CPUs.

(Alternatively, you could return the CPU, and acquire an R5-3600 instead, and likely be just as happy...
