So i due to my basic knowledge when it comes to computers i was just wondering if when i buy my computer and try to install the 3700X into my MSI B450 Tomahawk Max if it would work or would i have to update the bios before installing, if so how do i do it?

i was also wondering if it PCIE 3.0 and 4.0 made a difference because i am getting the 5700XT graphics but my motherboard only has 3.0.

I know its says the motherboard can support 1st 2nd and 3rd gen AMD CPU's but i just want too make sure :D

Solution
I believe the max series that MSI released is solely to support Ryzen 3000 without BIOS update, No PCI-E 4.0 doesn't really make any difference at this moment. (to me they could just update new stock to support Ryzen 3000 but oh well)
