MSI bios update stuck

I am trying to update the BIOS. I have an MSI motherboard, i used live installer and now its stuck at BIOS is updating. I can see the desktop and I can use the keyboard and mouse still. It has been stuck like for an hour and i dont want to brick my mobo please help.

Touch nothing.....just wait... if it doesn't finish then call MSI but don't touch it...

I still don't know why MSI includes this tool within their otherwise good utility program called Live Update.
The problem is this: You should never update your BIOS using a Windows based utility.

MSI also includes a BIOS based update tool called M-FLASH which does the job properly from within the BIOS itself.

In other words NEVER use Live Update to update your MSI mobo's BIOS. Bad idea, and easy way to brick your board.

Depending on which board you have, it may be recoverable. Which mobo do you have?

Update I noticed that the installer was taking up 0% cpu space, and I was able to close it without running into any problems, I will try the M-FLASH this time.

Just use your laptop or someone else's computer to get the BIOS you need onto a flash drive. Then do this:

Hello and sorry for disturbing but i have the ecxact same problem. I have a msi a88x-g45 mothermoard and i tryed to update the bios through love update and it got stuck. I left kt for one day and a half and then i shut down the programm. Now i cant access my bios what should i do?( i also tryied clearing cmos, didnt work)
