I will be purchasing a 280x this weekend. I want to know what role the MSI "Military Class 4" components will play in the life-span of a stock clocked GPU. I've looked into the ASUS card as well, however I am curious which card should prove a longer lifespan/reliability.

It really grabs my attention when I see the advertised high quality transistor/capacitor quality. Why doesn't ASUS advertise this? Does the ASUS card have lower quality components?

Will it be to my advantage to run the MSI card on the MSI class 4 motherboard?

Both cards run about the same, I've narrowed it down to longevity. I want something that will last, and last.

What is your opinion?

it's all a marketing gimmick, both are good brands like Suztera stated

you should not be so concerned about the longevity of your graphics card. most are warrantied for 2-3 years, and will more than likely perform fine for 5+ years (unless you're extra unlucky). beyond 5-6 years, you will either by upgrading, or you will no longer be able to play the latest titles by that point.
