I need some software other than MSI Command Center, I'd been using it but it constantly uses 65%-97% of my disk resources. I'd like a piece of software with OC abilities but as long as I can control fan speeds I'm not really fussed as long as it's compatible with a Z170A chipset (i7 6700K and MSI PRO GAMING CARBON Mobo) any suggestions?

If you overclock, use bios. Always use bios haha. But if you want to adjust some stuff while in os then use Intel XTU. For fan speed, use SpeedFan. Its confusing at first to set up but I can always help with that if you need it

I'm not a champion overclocker or anything like that and I already have a i7-6700K so I don't really need to OC (I will when it becomes outdated to keep up though) and in OS software always seems to be able to OC to where I want to anyway. I have intel XTU as well it came with my mobo & whilst I know SpeedFan is meant to be good for controlling fans I just really don't like the UI, that's why I use things like MSI CC but it's beginning to annoy me because it just uses all my disk's rescources, my HDD is the only cheap thing in my PC because I can't be asked to change it as for fear of loss of data :( I guess I'll try and get SpeedFan working, thanks for the help :D

Swapping hard drives for an ssd is easy. Just some simple cloning software and time. I use EaseUs ToDo Backup to clone my hard drives to ssds. The time is slow to do it since its the free version. But it works great and cloned everything over

Thanks for the help guys, I've started using SpeedFan but apparently my problem was to do with an AHCI.sys service that's bugged in Windows 10, after turning it off command center is working much better but I'm still in the process of setting up SpeedFan. And I'm probably gonna stick with my old school SSD for a little longer (really don't want to lose anything after the last time I swapped HDD's when upgrading)

After a little looking around I've found that SpeedFan doesn't support the Z170A chipset; which is, unfortunately, the chipset that I have / use :pfff: :(
