So I woke up this morning after last night to turn on my computer and my windows told me it was going to do an update so I let it do and update then it proceeded to go to a black screen with a 99 on the bottom right corner. I also built the computer yesterday. After I found out, I thought my motherboard was broke but then after 4 hours I decided to bring it down from my closet to check on it again but with only with the keyboard and long behold my pc started to boot up to the welcome screen.

What I'm getting at is will I have to do this to get my pc to boot up? And can anyone explain this phenomenon on?

1| When trying to diagnose a troubleshooting thread, it's proper etiquette to pass on your full system's specs inclusive of your OS. Can you please pass them on?

2| Have you made sure your BIOS is up to date? An error 99 code on most boards indicates your peripherals aren't functioning properly or aren't receiving ample power.

3| It sounds like you're on Windows 10, if so you may want to try reinstalling your OS but making sure you've manually downloaded the appropriate drivers and disabled automatic device driver updates before proceeding to install the drivers.
