MSI / Corsair compatability?

Hello,

I have a recent build which I have upgraded the memory to run dual channel. However, I am having problems doing just that. The memory will only be recognized when in single. I've tried every combination, both sticks work in every combination except when I run them in 2 different channels. When in dual channel, the PC will not post. I've tried everything I can think of including bare minimum components out of the case and flashing to the latest BIOS.

Any thoughts/help is appreciated.

I did a quick search with Corsair Memory Configurator and the Value Select DIMMS you have listed do not show up as compatible. If you have any other DIMMS try them in dual channel configuration and see what you get. I suspect it's the VS holding you back.

Yes, VS is very low-quality memory (unlike Corsair's premium lines like XMS2). You might try some better quality RAM, like Kingston's ValueRAM, or a premium RAM.

I was thinking the Corsair VS 667 mhz. DIMMS OP is using were likely purchased sepertely, as opposed to a matched pair dual channel intended kit. Being on the low quality side of the fence, this could be the reason the DIMMS will not run or boot up for that matter in DC. OP migh try some BIOS changes with the RAM voltage as well as the timings.
