MSI fan control speeds?

Hi everyone. I'm having some questions about the fan speed of my gpu.

I'm gaming on a gtx 970 asus turbo playing the witcher 3 on high.

My concern is that I set up MSI afterburner to keep my gpu cool (around 65C* because it was reaching high temps, 80c* and above). Given that I'm new to MSI afterburner I did some research and concluded this would be my fan speed set up. http://postimg.org/image/s9r7nexz5/

It keeps the gpu cooler but every time I pause the game the temps go as low as 30C* and fans slow down and fire up as soon as I'm back at the game.

Should I set the fan speeds to be running fast all the time or leave it as it is? I don't want to kill the fans on my GPU by having constant speed changes.

Many thanks in advance!!

Hello Tomas,
I too use afterburner, and I too have a custom profile. The temps dropping and the fans slowing aren't a big deal, and I would argue, that the life of the fans isn't that important. They only have to last as long as you're using the card, right? How long do you plan on using the card? 4 Years? 8 Years? 2 Years?
I will say this, I have mine set up with a very steep slope that starts are at 35 degrees C and has the fans maxed out by 55 degrees. I do have an sli system, and that produces big heat. In your case, I'd set the slope to start about 45 degrees and ramp up to the max at about 60 degrees.
One further thing to think about, how much of the time that you use the computer do you play games that tax the GPU enough to get the fans ramped way up?
You've asked about an interesting topic. MSI doesn't really tell us much about the fans, and the bearings that they use, on their graphics cards. I will say this, not to diminish your concerns, I plan to upgrade my card(s), long before I think the bearings will die in the cards fans.

Well it's true that GPU manufacturers make cards to last a long time and I plan to upgrade my GPU probably in 3 years minimum.

I've played for long hours at 80% Fan speed multiple GPU demanding games and get a stable 65C* max. But the witcher 3 goes up and down in temps once you pause the game.

I guess I'll keep my fan speed set up as it is and hope for the best. It's kinda of annoying when you hear the full speed of the GPU fan while paused but during gameplay I can barely hear it.
