Question MSI G41M-P28 ram limit

I've had this motherboard since around 2010-11 now, and im still using it. Im looking up for upgrading the specs a little bit until i buy a new PC in near future. On the box that came with it says that its ram limit is 4 gigs while on official internet page is 8. Now im stuck in between and don't know how much i can have. I'd love to upgrade it up to 8 gigs. 8Gb will only be useful if you are running a 64-bit operating system. 4Gb is the max for a 32-bit OS.

I have 64bit system, but i only wonder why it says 4 gigs on the box, not 8.

You may need to update BIOS to improve memory compatibility.

I have bought one more 2gb ddr3 1333mhz stick 3 years ago so i could i have 4 gigs, but it didn't work it added only like 100mbs of ram, whats up with that? I tried changing slots and updating bios back then but nothing worked..
