Hey, I recently assembled a computer to do some web surfing when at home.

Motherboard: MSI G41M-P33 VER: 3.0
Processor: Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor E6600
RAM: Kingston DDR3 1333 MHz 4GB ( KVR1333D3N9/4G )

I tried to turn on the computer with above processor, but motherboard didn't boot and POST.
But it boots with Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor E8400.

I know the E6600 isn't faulty because I already tested it in a Gigabyte GA-G31M-ES2L Rev: 1.1 Motherboard.

When I turn on the computer with E6600, all fans spin, but motherboard nevers POSTs.

I don't know how the Easy OC Switch in this motherboard works.

Why this motherboard won't boot with E6600 and DDR3 1333 MHz 4GB RAM?
Because it is failing to change CPU's FSB from 1066 MHz to 1333 MHz?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Solution
Well you're not the first one with burned motherboard, also i did smoke one or two :) .
Lucky if you can find they come cheap under 40$ like good motherboard P35 or DFI-Lan Party.
If i can say you learn from your mistakes.
Weird. From my perspective if you use 1333MHz that is considered overclocking with this motherboard, as it supports DDR3 1066 but it doesnt specify 1333 ram.
But if it changes FSB that is considered overclocking.
Did you clear cmos before putting E6600, as it may need to refresh settings.

Why not! I already did it multiple times and still no luck. This is weird to me too. Perhaps something in OC Switch need to be turned on?

I straightened them up, but it did nothing. I also think that this motherboard's BIOS is corrupted. I will take this motherboard to a local computer repair shop tomorrow.

Can a corrupted BIOS cause such a strange behavior?

I took this motherboard to a local computer shop today and they said this is a serious pin damage. I have no clue how those pins got damaged seriously. May be at the time when I tried to put the CPU Socket pin protection cover back. :/

While they are testing the motherboard, its used memory slot smoked and a burning smell came. They didn't try to install any new memory module. There was only my currently installed memory module KVR1333D3N9/4G. Now this motherboard even doesn't boot with E8400 Processor. 🙁

Kingston RAM is tested and still working fine. but MSI, their older motherboards seems to be in poor quality.

How unlucky am I. 🙁
