Hey guys I ran into a some problems with my Mobo.
I have a MSI Gaming 5 Z97 with an F2 error now m.
I was having Video Card driver issues originally and couldn't get my SLI to work. (Worked fine until I downloaded the newest NVIDIA drivers, both cards work individually, SLI Bridge was fine, stopped working after the driver update, rolled back and it still wouldn't work, have done all the regular steps to get this working as it's happened in the past)
So in the process of trying to fix this, I decided to check to see if my BIOS needed to be updated. I was running version 1.9 and I downloaded MSI Live Update and updated to version 1.C.
During the update the computer restarted but it stayed at a black screen. I left it there for about 15-20 minutes and nothing changed. So I powered off the computer , and every time it turns on, the screen does not detect any output from either GPU or the CPU. Fans turn on, LED lights turn on, GPU fans run. Since the screen won't detect I obviously can't get into the BIOS.
On the motherboard the LED light says F2. I've tried to do some research but couldn't find much. I found that it may mean that it's looking for the start up files.
I've tried removing components ,RAM , GPU. I've tried holding down the power button. I've unplugged the power supply. I removed the CMOS battery to let the BIOS reset. Nothing seems to work and I still get the F2 error.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!
Note: Everything had been working perfectly for months prior to the driver updates. I don't believe the problems started with the physical parts of the hardware until the Mobo started showing the F2 error.
Other specs:
i7 4790k Devils Canyon
MSI GTX 979 x2
G-Skill Ram 16GB
SSD Storage 1.25TB
