Hello, I am a complete newbie at computers, and my computer is coming soon, and I've been looking around with tips on how to setup my BIOS. People have been saying MSI mobo's are hard to set up, and with all the categories it's overwhelming. Does anyone have a video or something that tells me how to set up the bios?
and what the categories do? thanks.

Setup? I have an MSI motherboard. All I did was installed my operating system and left it alone. There are no settings you really need to tweak. The interface is simple. If you have an I7 processor just make sure that hyperthreading is enabled. You can also check the temperatures of your board and CPU and change the fan speeds. Also change the boot order to suit your needs. It's all simple - you just click.

I'll be honest i did not play with that stuff, i have the very same MOBO and it is all ready to use.

By the way a little tip, get MSI Live Update 6, it is an official MSI software for latest drivers and BIOS, you can update BIOS software with a few clicks and always get the latest drivers.

You can control fan speeds from MSI Command Center software, i did not care for it that much to be honest, but if you want to play around with fans you can get that.

Don't update the BIOS unless you are experiencing problems, if a BIOS update goes bad your motherboard could remain with software corruption and you'll have nothing you can do. I tried updating my MSI board once and it would freeze. Fortunately, on a hard reboot it was fine but don't update BIOS, there is no need to.

I have to say, if the MOBO comes unupdated straight from the manufacturer at this point there could have been up to 10 or more updates.

They do come unupdated. I bought my motherboard in something like August of 2014, which had 2013 BIOS. There is no need to update it unless there is a problem. It does not make your hardware perform any faster or better, BIOS updates are more for bug-related issues, which, if there are none, do not need updated.
