Msi Gaming 5 SLI question

Hi!

As said by MSI there is SLI support for this motherboard.
What they do not say is which of the three ports i should put my GPUs?
If anyone can clarify this for me, it would be greatly appreciated.
(I don't have SLI as of yet, which is why I can't test it.)

Usually the top and middle slots for motherboards with that kind of lane arrangement.

But the bottom PCI-E slot has, strangely, connector pins count typical of a x8 slot, rather than x4.

The top and middle are indeed usually the ones. what board are you looking at, the Z97 Gaming 5? You can download the manuals from the MSI site to review before you purchase. You can do this with most all motherboards and their manufacturers.

Gen3 (16x,0,0), (8x,8x,0), (8x,4x,4x).
(top_slot,mid_slot,down_slot)
if you want to sli,plugging to top_slot and mid_slot for sure.

Thanks for all the answers! The manual unfortunatly did not seem to indicate which ones for SLI, oddly enough.
