How about this motherboard? I will use i7-4790k and gtx970. Is it better than the asus z97-a?

Since it's optimized towards gaming, it will most likely be better for you.

However, the Z97-A is packed with a ton of features. So it's more of a personal preference as to what features you want/need.

The Ranger is a Z97-A/HERO hybrid. It packs all the game features and bling of the HERO while also packing the AI SUITE 3 that the HERO does not have but the Z97-A (and all mainstream series) have.

Only problem is that it's hard to fine in the U.S. But if you can get your hands on it then great.

it's ok don't worry! I ginally got the asrock z97 extreme 3 and i am pretty happy with it but because i want the potential of three-way sli i might change it for the extreme 9, which is one og the few mobos which offer this potential on this platform. Your thoughts on the extreme 9 and the evga classified ( it is not out yet but i heard that it offers great oc potential).
