MSI Gaming 970 4gb vs GamingX 1060 3gb

I'm looking to make a graphics card upgrade from my 1050. I've been doing some searching and I found both these cards. The 970 4gb used but good quality for $175 or the 1060 3gb new for $200. Is it worth it to pay an extra $25 for the 1060 or go with the 970?

Even with the extra driver overhead on your weak CPU it should be faster than both of those cards

Unless saving every possible dollar is the priority, I'd favor a 580 over the 1060 3gb, I'd favor the 1060 3gb over the 970. If saving money was the priority I'd get the 970.

Yep agreed with both above. RX 580 is the best option, it's stronger than both the other cards even with the weaker CPU. At least you'll also have a more competent card should you upgrade the CPU down the track.

which 580 would you recommend that is roughly $200 and fits in with a red and black color scheme?

This one is only just over $200, but the best for a Red/Black theme by far.
