Hello!
To make this quick, i am having a common issue on the Msi Gaming 970. MSI did not use very good thermal pads when building these boards, this caused oils from the thermal pads to leak onto the motherboard, leaving this oily greasy residue behind.

I know i should upgrade to AM4, but that could be very costly and i need to save up for other stuff, so doing a little replacement on the thermal pads will keep my board running longer and happier, hopefully.

QUESTION IS. What thickness of thermal pads do i use, and is there anything i should specifically note or worry about certain thermal pads.

I'm looking at some arctic thermal pads, i can get them in 0.5mm, 1.0mm and 1.5mm
They have a thermal conductivity of 6.0W/mK and thats apparently a lot better then the ones on the MSI board.

Thanks!
