I recently just finished putting together this build (see pcpartpicker below) and everything seems to be in order, the problem is when I turn it on, I get no video output or keyboard or mouse output. I don't get any error sounds so I'm not too sure what the problem is. The board seems to be getting power (the audio boost and led line are lit up) as well as the graphics card (MSI logo) and CPU cooler (fan). Is the board dead? I will be leaving for a trip on Sunday so I'm not sure if its possible to get a new board or whatever I need before I leave. I've tried turning it on with no ram, one stick and also with no graphics card but to no avail.

Well just looking at your pcpartpicker list the is a note: "Some AMD 970 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Vishera CPUs." Did you make sure the bios for this mobo is up to date? If you go on the motherboards manufacturer site, there should be a download bios page to update the bios, and there are tutorials on how to help you out.

Solution

That may actually work, thanks. Do you know if there is a way to do this without video? The tutorial on the site doesn't show if this is possible.

I don't but I will get back to you if I find something
