Few days ago i got myself an MSI gaming laptop which has really good specs such as a GTX 970M, an Intel Core i7 6700HQ and 16 gigs or ddr4 ram.

So i installed drivers and all but the gaming side lags a lot, for example, im playing GMOD on like 30 fps... Also GTA V and csgo on poor fps. I already checked that im running the gtx 970M and not the integrated graphics but it gets worse and worse. Please help me!

Solution
Since it's a brand new unit, contact MSI tech support so you can troubleshoot it with one of their techs. If they can't figure it out, they will start troubleshooting hardware.

Not really, it always runned this bad, im really worried. I got it factory new. And nope, its not overheating.

Thanks for the suggestion, ill try that.

I just realised, when my laptop is plugged in it starts to lag, but when it is running on battery it doesn't lag at all!
I have searched about this and it says info about changing power management but i dont know how to do this.

On most MSI (if not all) there is a dedicated button near the power button that will open up the System Control Manager.

If not, in your tray there should be an "SCM" icon you can bring up.

Try switching the 'eco' mode off, and to 'Gaming'. That should being out all the horsepower to play whatever game you're looking to run!
