If there is a way to compete for Intel, that is for them to cut the cost of the processors to make it more affordable. While this is a very feature rich laptop, and the Intel chip is also very capable, but the cost is also staggering. Not many people have the budget or willing to spend over 4 grand for a laptop.

Not everything needs to be affordable for everyone. This is a halo product. MSI isn't selling this to compete with Chromebooks. There are plenty of sub $1000 Intel laptops. If you're not a baller, look elsewhere, you aren't the intended market this one.

If laptop without cpu cost $2500, it does not matter if the other cpu is $50 cheaper.
If the laptop without cpu cost $250 then if another cpu is $50 cheaper it does mean something. The cpu is only one part of the Computer. And its relative cost depend a lot of what other parts cost.
