Last time I upgraded ram on a laptop was around 4-5 years ago and would just like some advice as I'm buying myself a new laptop MSi GE60-463UK and really don't want to screw up my brand new £880 laptop.

I plan to upgrade to the max of 16gb.
MSi GE60-463UK
i7 3630QM
HM 76 (although have seen HM77) chipset. Can't confirm which my laptop has, but there can't be a huge compatibility issue

I have looked at:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-CMXS16GX3M2A1600C10-Vengeance-Performance-So-Dimm/dp/B0076W9Q5A/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1363972462&sr=1-1

Are there any recommendations of laptop RAM brands/specific modules for me to look at.
Main reason for 16gb is that I'm an architectural technology student so 3d modeling/rendering/photoshop is part of my use for this laptop, as well as providing my gaming needs for my "free time". 16gb will be handy for gaming although won't be a huge effect.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Ok thanks! Issue I have (maybe an idiot here) but it says it's for 2nd gen i5/i7, that wouldn't be an issue for the i7 3rd gen ivy bridge cores right?

G.skill unfortunately costs more and have noticed the CAS latency is higher. Think I'll just purchase this, nice review and will fulfil it's purpose!

No, it won't be a problem. At the end of the day, it works fine as long as you have the correct type of memory (which would be DDR3, and the form factor SO-DIMM) which is what your laptop requires.
