I am looking to buy a computer and have narrowed down my options to the MSI GE72VR Apache Pro-416 or the Lenovo Legion Y520.

GE72VR Apache Pro-416 Specs.
17.3" Screen
Full HD
Intel Core i7 7700 HQ Proccesor
16 Gigs of RAM
1 Tb HHD and a 128 Gb SSD
NVIDIA GTX 1060 3Gb Graphics card
Price $1250

VS

Lenovo Legion Y520 Specs.
15.6" Screen
Intel Core i7 7700 HQ Proccesor
16 Gigs of RAM
2 Tb HHD and a 256 Gb SSD
NVIDIA GTX 1050 Ti Graphics card
Price $1000

I'm looking for a good gaming computer and have done research, and I was wondering if paying $250
extra is worth it for the better graphics card and better screen?

Solution
i would recommend getting a gtx 1060 laptop at least, if gaming is your objective.

It's not really an apples-to-apples comparison: The MSI has a larger panel and a more powerful GPU - hence the £250 difference. If you have the cash and are willing to accept the extra weight (5.96lbs vs 5.4lbs), by all means go for the MSI. Battery life on both machines is horrible, so be prepared to pack your charger always.

Yep i agree but that one is a little bulky to be a laptop. Would pick if thermals were better though
