I bought a MSI GeForce GT 710 2GB gddr3 for my new build that i will build next week. Just to realise that the gpu looks like a soundcard and is 4x worser than my hd7850... Straight away even before I will start building my pc Im thinking about a GeForce GT 1030 thats a bit more expensive than the gt710.
Also is a Gddr5 version of the 2gb GT 710 any better or should I just go full on the gt 1030.

Solution
MSI GeForce GT 710 should just be returned ASAP as it's terrible. If you can't return it I would keep it as a backup or toss it. It's a graphics card designed for budget or home theater PCs years ago. The GT 1030 is at least 3 times faster.

If this is for a gaming PC build I personally recommend the GTX 1050 is the starting point. The GT 1030 is good for budget machines running DOTA or Minecraft or watching 4K video but not great for most games if you want smooth gameplay at medium settings. The integrated graphics that come with the AMD Ryzen 2400g exceeds/matches the GT 1030 in benchmarks.

Question from gopnikstachupl : "Hd7080 vs Gt710 2gb ddr5 or Gt1030"

There isn't a card named HD7080 so I can't compare HH7080 to anything, but the GT 1030 is 3x better than the GT 710.\

EDIT: OK, so if it's an HD7850 you have then that's actually 40% faster than a GT 1030 and nearly 500% faster than a GT 710 so either of those 2 cards will be a huge downgrade for you. What you want would be a card starting at GTX 1050 which is about 30% faster than the HD 7850. If you want a decent upgrade, consider a GTX 1060 3GB which is 140% faster than the HD 7850.
