Hi guys,

So I have an Alienware x51 R2 pc, with the gtx 660 GPU (one 6 pin I think)
I'm planning on upgrading to the MSI GeForce GTX 970 GAMING 4G, but it uses a: 6 pins, 8 (6+2) pins connector.

What kind of cable or splitter will I have to buy to hook this up?

Thanks,
-Sacha

Solution
Well to start, what PSU is in your machine? You may need to upgrade the PSU for the new card. Typically if your PSU doesn't have a 6 pin and an 8 pin it is not designed to run a heavier load like that.

Yeah, it's gonna be to complicated installing that card, my case&psu aren't made for it.
I'm going for EVGA 970 superclocked, it uses 6 pin & I won't have to modify my case to fit it in.

Thanks for helping me :)
