I need some advice. I ordered the MSI GL66 last week with RTX 3070 but my buddy bought the Strix 15 with the RTX 3060. With GL66 I get the i7-11800H 2.4GHz. The Strix on the other hand has the Ryzen 9 5900HX at 4.6 GHz. Other than that, they are fairly comparable.

I will note that I got the GL66 for $1300, $200 less than the Strix. I'm gaming but not streaming. I need opinions on which is a better buy.

I have the links to both:

GL66: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09127DDVT/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_RS7AWZ94ZSZ43PSCVHV0

Strix: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0992NV846/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_api_glt_fabc_J00TBZFV6JQM661RRXXM?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

You're OK with a 3070 vs 3060, especially for $200 less. The only real lament is the Intel 11,000 series CPUs don't perform any better than the 10,000 series, and on top of it, run hotter, the latter of which is concerning for a laptop.

My advice is go ahead with the one you ordered, but make sure you get a good laptop cooler for it, and always use it when gaming.

That's one of my concerns with MSI. Also the 3070 is 85w not the 140w. The ASUS 3060 is 130w.

Well, the 3070 may be considerably downclocked then, as GPUs and CPUs generally are to some degree vs their desktop counterparts. Maybe just search for some reviews on both laptops.
Yeah... did that and both seem to be really close in all aspects. Not sure if the extra $200 is worth it.
