Hi, imma keep it simple, im using the MSI GL73 8SE, now upgraded the RAM with 2x 8GB kit. (Those)

With both sticks inserted, the laptop wont boot, blackscreen, lights on, fans on.
One stick alone is working just fine in the the first slot, whenever im involving a stick in the second slot, it wont boot as mentioned.

Things i tried:

-Updated BIOS
-Updated EC
-Switched RAM-sticks

-Made sure the slot is clean
(it is, no visible damage aswell)

-Everytime while switching hardware pulled of power plug and battery, waited some minutes before starting again

-waited over an hour for possible boot

-did cmos reset multiple times

At that point im thinking the slot is damaged, do you guys have any ideas?

Settings i could try in BIOS?

Thank you very much in advance and enjoy your weekend Guys!

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

Take an eraser, wipe the gold contacts on both sticks of ram. Remove any dirt/debris from the sticks then use them in the slots. Since you're able to disassemble the laptop, while disconnected from the wall, disconnect the battery from the laptop, remove both sticks of ram, press and hold down the power button for 30 seconds. Replace one stick of ram, make sure you're able to power the laptop with the adapter, go into OS, check and see that the ram is reported correctly in OS/BIOS.

Power down and then try with the second stick in the second slot.

What BIOS version are you currently on for your MSI laptop?

That was quick.

I did as you mentioned, erased the goldies. One stick in the first slot is always recognized in BIOS, system runs like im used to. After adding the second stick, its still not booting, waited a bit on the device trying to do so.

BIOS version is 17C7EMS1.107
EC version is 17C7EMS1.105 (just in case)
