So I have an MSI GS30 Shadow laptop w/ a gaming dock. The GPU enclosed is an 980Ti. When I turn on the laptop w/ the dock. The GPU lights up (EVGA FTW 980ti) the fans spin. When I plug a monitor into the GPU the MSI Logo shows up. Starts loading. Then freezes. The laptop itself runs fine. Checking HWMonitor. It only shows my Iris Pro graphics. What seems to be the problem?

Does the laptop support external graphics processing (or whatever it's called)? I'm pretty sure there is an option that needs to be turned on for it if it does support it. Also, what PSU are you using... Is it up for the task, as the 980ti has some high power consumption.
With the card plugged in, did you install the drivers, restart the laptop and plug the monitor in the GPU just before it POSTS?
