I would like to build a fairly low cost gaming PC. It doesn't need to be a super computer, but I would like it to run games at a good rate. I appreciate any input, thanks in advance.

The GTX650 is much stronger, three tiers higher on the monthly "Best Graphics Cards for the Money" article's hierarchy chart.
Check benchmark charts for the games you want to play and your resolution. At the $500 price point (unless you don't already have a Windows license), you should be able to fit a GTX650Ti Boost Edition into your budget.
