MSI GTX 1050 ti gaming x high temperatures

hello! I just bought a new msi gtx1050 ti gaming x. I think that the temps i have, are high for this card compared to the reviews that i searched.
With full load, i get about 80c with fans at 40% and about 76c with fans at 100% (card at stock settings and with core clock about 1800mhz.
Room temp is 23c, my case have 2 fans at top, 1 back and 1 front, all 120mm. Something that i think that is strange, when i close the game or stress programme, cards drops to 40c in about 5 secs...

What do you think about these temps? You think that are normal for this medium range gpu? (Previously i had gtx750 ti msi, and max temps in same conditions were about 55c... )

The 80c isn't bad as my single fan version hits 85c. New video cards hit higher temps. Long as its not hitting 90's should be fine.

Return the card and get a replacement. What's happening is there is poor contact between the gpu and the cooler, so the gpu heats up quickly to those higher temperatures but also drops quickly....that quick drop is very typical of a cooler that's much colder than the gpu, which shouldn't happen if it had good contact. You could always take the cooler off and replace the thermal paste, but on a brand new card you shouldn't be responsible for doing that, so ask for a new card.

Oh, i understand what you are saying. I can change the thermal paste (i had done a thermal paste change to a friends gpu) but do you know if that voids warranty? You think after that its gonna be fine? Im also gonna contact the store that i bought it from, but i dont know, if they will replace it or tell me to send the card to msi by myself...

you just bought a brand new gpu and you wanna mess with thermal paste already? MSI is great for returns and friendly. just return it.

Just return it. Most cards have a small warranty sticker over the screws that hold the cooler on, so if you remove it you may void the warranty......at the least you would need to explain why you had done it.

You're welcome. If your local shop don't want to return the card, contact msi directly and explain what is happening. They see this problem all the time and will have no problems with you wanting a replacement card, good luck.
