MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X or MSI GTX 1070 TI Gaming X

I am planning on building a computer, but I'm stuck between the 1070 and 1070 ti. I can get the 1070 for $424, however, the 1070 ti is $470. I do see the gigabyte 1080 g1 for $540. Would that be a better deal? I was told that a 1080 would need at least a 2k or 4k monitor, but I don't think I'd be spending the extra money on a new monitor, since I have 3 already.
