MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X vs EVGA GTX 1070 FTW

Hey guys im hit with a dilemma right now to either buy the msi gaming x version or the ftw edition. The base clock for the msi one is 1506 when the evga version is 1607. Both boost up to 1797mhz. So do you guys think the preformance will matter between the two??

yes if you are not overclocking. if you are overclocking it won't make hardly any difference as they will yield similar results.
really it comes down to
- screen resolution and what games you play
- price
- are you going to overclock?

i would get the cheaper model and provide a modest overclock.

Well i can give you a recommendation on the 1070 ftw. I just got mine and I ran the benchmark valley which showed my 1070 ftw boosting too 2012 mhz

get the evga sc its cheaper then the ftw and can be overclocked to that speed i got two in my rig

Yes the Sc is a great option too if you want to pay less money but just keep in mind that if your big on over clocking get the ftw because it has two 8 pins but if you want a very good card for less money then go for the sc

yes for big overclocking yes
but if not its a waste of money as both my evga 1070 sc are able to be overclocked to the speed of the ftw

I had the ASUS GTX 1070 STRIX https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-GeForce-STRIX-Graphic-STRIX-GTX... and loved it. Now I have the GTX 1080 STRIX. =) I also had the Gigabyte G1 Gaming model of each but still preferred the ASUS model. Better performance and cooling. I also preferred the aesthetics more but that is subjective.
