Hello,

Recently I built a new system from an existing platform on my old computer. The issue I am running into now is that when I try to hook up my old "smart" tv to the HDMI port of my GTX 1070; it doesn't recognize.

What's strange is I have a Samsung PX2370 plugged into DVI and working flawlessly....I've had nothing but trouble upgrading my old system to the new this past memorial weekend and I just want to figure out why HDMI is not even registering through the card to the TV. I also plugged the monitor which works via DVI into HDMI to test....and it doesn't register either.

I have already ensured that the BIOS in my MB has all the proper settings for dual monitor and PEG and the card has no visual faults and is running the most current driver in Windows 10. Below is my system information.

Processor: Core i5 7400
Graphics: MSI 1070 GTX
MB: MSI M5 Gaming Series
Memory: 16 GB Corsair DDR4 3k MHZ
Hard Drives: 1 TB SSD 2 TB 7200 RPM
Power Supply: 1200W Corsair
Monitor: Samsung PX2370
TV: Samsung UN32ES6500F

Help is much appreciated in trying to solve this issue.

Thanks.

Solution
I know it will sound fishy but start from the most obvious things. I have gtx 1070 on my own. Sometimes the most simple things are the easiest way to fix the problem. Start from getting a new HDMI cable and plug it into both of your HDMI outputs on the card. If it doesn't works on both cables than you can try to hook it up into another monitor.

If nothing works than your card has damaged hdmi ports probabbly and that's causing the issue. If you don't want to RMA your card you can use a DVI-D to HDMI adapter and go HDMI quality like that. Hope I helped! :)
