Hi,

I have got MSI GTX 1080 Gaming X and I have a question regarding temperature. My fans speed in MSI is set up @ Auto. I was playing Deus Ex Mankind Divided [everything @ ultra, no MSAA].

I alt+tabbed game to check temperatures in MSI afterburner. It showed temp between 72 and 74 degrees but fans were working at 2% ?!?!?! I thought that I should be getting temperatures between 62-65 under load.

Is this normal for this card or should I set up manual fan curve? I have not overclocked the card yet.

Thanks for reading !

When you alt+tab you don't see the real values because it drops as soon as you alt+tab, either have it do a log file or put the temp and fan speed on the riva overlay that comes with afterburner.

But 72\74ºC is normal while gaming, it will throttle itself if it reaches critical levels ;) (90ºC max if i remember correctly)

MSI has like a graph so it gives me readout from last 30 seconds so I know the temperatures and fan speeds under load. Its re-assuring that temps are within norm. Do you think its normal that fans work at 2%, would you create manual fan curve and set this higher. I am thinking that this might drop temps below 70. what do you think good sir?
