I got my new GTX 1080 Ti 3 days ago and my temps are around 58-60C on idle all the time and the fans are not running till it hit more 61C. when gaming the card temp max out at 65C and keep it on a stable Temp.

my question is, is it okay to run 60C on idle Temp? i dont want to mess with any stock settings right now tho... will this hurt my card? or should i create a custom fan curve and do you guys have any recommendations?

This is my current fan curve that i created

by the way i noticed when im using only one monitor the temps are at 40C... and when i connect my other 2 monitors then the temps reach up to 60C just wanted to mention this as well.

Solution
Not necessarily. When you compare the two screenshots you posted you'll notice there's a big difference both in core clock and memory clock. Your fans are still at 0% but the power draw went down from 27% to 5%. The clean windows install probably got rid of a piece of software that uses GPU acceleration. FireFox does that, for example.

Im using a NZXT S340

Im currently living in the philippines and im not worried about my gaming temps. just worried about the idle temps. because when im using a single monitor the temps are below 40C & when i plug my other 2 monitors the Temps go up 60c on idle. why is this happening when i plug my other secondary monitors. so basically my temps go high on 60C when i do a multiple monitor setup. currently running 2 monitor set up.

Temps when im using 2 monitors --->

Temps when im using only 1 monitor --->

i know when you use a GPU demanding APP like Video editing or a video file the core clock goes up and the temps can go high...

so now my question is? why was the core high when im not doing anything just sitting on idle and no apps or nothing on the background that need GPU to run but still the core clocks is high around 1443Mhz....

now i compared with my friends 1080Ti who has a dual monitor setup and he has all the programs such as firefox and gpu demanding programs installed but still his Idle core clocks are around 202Mhz as my fresh installation. so thats why this is making me confused.

Funny issue. Could have been just a driver bug too (did you update drivers)?

I think my card in Windows 7 was pretty much always sitting close to 0% when on the desktop.

Custom profile won't hurt as such. It's all for controlling the temperature, the temperature is the thing that cooling exist for and if you are OK there then everything is fine. Custom profile is for people who are not too lazy to touch it :)
