I just bought a 144Hz monitor and my good old 2-fans GTX760 turns into a helicopter everytime when I let my game's framerate go up above 100 fps.
Is this because the video card? I'm low on budget at the moment but should this problem go away by changing the card to a more recent one? A GTX 1650 SUPER may solve it perhaps?

Solution
You may need to reapply thermal paste, given the card's age. Still, you work it harder, it is going to generate more heat, and in turn more fan noise. I would suggest a newer card, for the better performance alone.

Thank you.
I didn't know if the fans are removable on my GTX760 to replace the thermal paste.
Anyway, what do you think? Will a GTX 1650 be enough to play in 1920x1080 at 120 fps without that excessive fan noise?
